One Of Those Days

One Of Those Days

Everybody has those days:

A kind of parting of the ways

When nothing seems to be all right –

You think you are a sorry sight

Wrinkles show, your waist is fat

What’s to like in all of that?

Shake your finger at those moods

Think of all your aptitudes!

You’re NOT a perfect “mixing bowl”

You ARE a one and unique soul.

So, smile and let that be your choice:

Revive, Restore, Relive, Rejoice!

Choosing Happiness

Do you choose how you act or react when an unexpected situation arises? – or – Do you normally accept the situation and suffer the consequences?

Your happiness may depend on how you answered.

In a recent publication of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, they presented a study run over 25 years in Australia which shows that happiness is based on choice and the life goals that each of us sets.  Happiness is greater for those who know how to choose than it is among those who simply accept life as it happens.

We may not be able to change what happens, but we can choose how we react to what happens.

It’s Your Choice

Choice

You control your life. Only you can decide how you will think and act in any situation. Even the decision to breath is yours!

Acknowledge it’s your choice.

  • Remind yourself often « It’s my choice how I think and act. I am in control.» Repeat this to yourself when you step into a new situation, lack confidence or feel threatened.
  • Flash back to positive experiences where you were confident and in control. Relive those experiences in the present. Focus on what you can repeat from each positive experience.
  • Stretch yourself to try something new each day. Try wearing that new color. Speak to a stranger. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, it’s a good sign. You are opening your blinders and stretching your boundaries.

With these three easy steps you will already move beyond your self-limiting thoughts. There is no limit.
