Some Hair Loss is Normal

Are you concerned about loss of hair or nails that are in bad shape?  This can be due to heredity or lack of nutrients.  Stress plays an important part in this as well. Emotional shock, a contagious disease, dermatological problems, hormonal imbalance and even sometimes side effects of medication can cause loss of hair.

It is normal to lose 60 to 70 hairs a day.  Don’t panic because they grow back again. Depending on the cause proper treatment can be applied with various hair products.

The same is true of nails.  Nourish them with vitamins – principally the vitamin B group and calcium and magnesium. For nails specifically, massage them with olive or almond oil mixed with lemon oil used in aromatherapy.

The Therapy Of Writing

The Therapy of Writing

Writing on the wall or better yet, writing on paper(!) is a very rewarding therapy.  It engages the brain to think more clearly and coherently than typing on a machine.

Writing releases emotions and can alleviate depression or trauma. It seems to soothe and calm. It makes one more creative as well according to some studies.

Of course, today it is not very practical when everyone seems to be in a rush, and the computer can correct spelling errors and do all kinds of tasks; but even making a shopping list or writing down reminders will be of some aid.

As we age there are moments when we feel lonely, forgotten and depressed. When that happens, put on your age esteem smile, pick up a pen or pencil and write!

Test the therapy of writing. Whenever you feel stressed or anxious, sit down and write something. – It does not have to be a novel!

Tummy Troubles

Tummy Troubles

Everyone has digestive inconveniences at one time or another, and there are many.  Gastric pain, stomach burning reflux and bloating are among them.

There are things you can be do to prevent them.  What one eats is both the primary instigator and the solution to the problem.  Too many fats affect the liver.  Water eliminates fat from the liver, so drinking it regularly is a good start.  However, stay away from carbonated drinks; they increase bloating.  Also lack of exercise and stress promote digestive problems

Eating well is the answer.  Unfortunately, the things we seem to love are the worst culprits such as sausages, fried foods like French fries, and cakes.   Fruits and vegetables and non-fatty meat are the solution, although excessive acid can increase problems so attention should be given to some fruits.

Eating smaller portions several times a day seems to help as opposed to three bigger meals at one sitting.
