What Health Information Should I Believe?
It seems that many findings that are reported today show that studies have proven that just about anything is beneficial to good health. – Eggs, coffee, and even sunshine.
It may be a bit confusing, and, of course, there should not be an excess of any one of these. However, it seems safe to say that with more sophisticated and modern technologies used in these studies, the results can be trusted.
You should also keep in mind that in a few years from now perhaps foods that are good for us today will not be considered so in the future.
What should one do? Have faith in the studies but be very sure that the source of these findings is reliable. Who knows, maybe one day cookies and cakes will be found to benefit your health. If only!

How Do You Define Health?
How do you define health? If we wish to be healthy as we age we need to define what it means. The definition given below is also a good definition of age-esteem. – The difference being that you can have age-esteem even in the presence of disease. Age-esteem is dependent on a positive attitude toward life in all circumstances.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Lemon To Keep You Trim and Healthy
The lemon is a miracle food for losing weight. This is due to its richness in vitamin C. Recent studies have found that the more vitamin C there is in the blood, the fewer fats will be assimilated in the body. This improves the circulation in the lymphatic system and eliminates cellulite and firms up the tissues in the skin.
A regular daily addition of lemon to your food should do the trick. – Squeezed lemon on boiled vegetables, lemon juice in vinaigrette instead of vinegar, a slice of lemon in a glass of water and other means that you can think of.
Surprisingly, lemon becomes alkaline when in the body and will balance to some extent the excessive amount of acid which is found in just about all other foods that we eat such as fish, meat, eggs and certain fruits.
Eat lemons daily to keep you trim and healthy as you age with esteem.

Beware of Ticks
April and May are the months when ticks make their appearance. They are very dangerous and do not show any particular respect for age. Tick bites can even cause death as well as diseases like Lyme Disease. Certain areas are more prone to them than others.
You cannot feel them when they are on the skin, and once they bite, it is too late. Be very careful when hiking or walking in woods and forests. Cover up as much of the body as possible by wearing long pants and long sleeves.
The diseases can be treated with antibiotics. However, prevention is always best.

Salt For Healthy Aging
Too much salt is not good and is found in many processed foods. However, with transpiration salt is eliminated from the body along with other minerals.
Too little salt in your diet is also not good. Side effects occur such as weakness and vomiting if there is too little salt in the body. New studies are showing that a salt free diet is not healthy for us. Too little salt can negatively affect our bones and memory.
A diet that is well balanced, which includes vegetables, fruits and salads with a normal amount of salt is a good step toward enjoying good health at every age.

Tidbits for a Healthy Life
Water, water everywhere. – There is a lot to drink.
Have it often, then you’ll see that surely you can think!
A recent study has shown that feeling tired and unable to think clearly could come from mild dehydration. Water should be drunk before thirst appears, as then it is too late to be effective. Drink water often to improve your concentration and to enhance your age esteem.
Strawberries are most delicious when eaten after reaching maturity. When there are white patches around the stalks, it means that the berries were picked before they were fully ripe. Delicious and nutritious when eaten with whipped cream, ice cream or in cakes, they still are most delightful when eaten on their own.
Peppermint- The refreshing smell of peppermint, especially for mouth hygiene, has been used for a long time. The herb is also very efficient in helping digestion and in calming stomach aches. When inhaled or rubbed on the skin, it brings a sense of calm and peace.
