A special Poem for Cousins
And SHE who’s my dear friend:
She keeps my mind a-buzzin
As through our lives we wend.
Hers is a BIG, BIG Birthday,
So Big I’m all agog!:
Speechless, verseless, quite “bouche-bée”
No words, nor time for blogs.
Corny though it might be,
Her real Kernel of truth:
Since she was a baby
She’s found eternal youth!

Do You Hate To Fly?
If you find you have to fly
Try to think about the sky
Look, its almost always Blue
Clear and Bright – that could be You!
Young or old, each “flight” is new
If clouds be gray, what to do?
Just take the journey anyway –
Be happy for another day.

A Pedigree
You would agree
Sounds something good to have.
Horses have it,
So do dogs,
As well as Heifer calves.
We all have “pedigreements”
Superior and grand.
Just try ESTEEMent good sense
And wave an ageless hand.

* When a friend was visiting us for three weeks in Geneva, Switzerland she was invited to many of the events we attended. Rather than try to translate when people spoke about who was related to whom and how they were related, which is a favorite conversation among the Genevois, I would simply say “pedigree”. Nature’s Clever Scheme
Our lives are just like seasons
Ever changing and renewed,
We age for many reasons,
There’s no time to fret or brood!
We Spring first towards Summer’s suns
Then Fall forth ‘till Winter comes.
Think of Nature’s clever scheme

Life Is A Patchwork
Life is a patchwork, full of seams,
Stitched together by Age Esteem!
Sewn and gowned with bolts of Time
Hemmed and mended (like this rhyme!).

Hurrying is worrying if you don’t
Take time to live!
Living means giving every moment
A kind of “sieve”:
Sifting our bad habits which make
Old age a chore,
Lifting up your spirits and spreading
Joy galore –

Life’s Stitches
I am much older but it seems
I feel better (bolder) through Age Esteem –
Going on with hope and daring,
Holding on to friends by caring.

All of Life’s stitches I would mend
