Proud To Be A Woman
We should make everyday an International Women’s Day. – A day to celebrate and honor all women of the world.
I am proud to be a woman.
As a woman I have given birth to a daughter as well as to ideas, products, businesses, and AgeEsteem… I am capable to teach, lead, advise, guide, counsel, support, encourage, mentor, and sit at the decision-making table.
I am able to laugh, sing, play and dance, even though my heart may be breaking or my body in pain.
I am able to feel within me the pain and suffering of my sisters around the globe who face atrocities that no living creature should have to endure, and lift them in my thoughts and prayers.
I am able to rejoice as I watch generations of women stand up and speak out for what they know to be right and just, despite the personal risk it may involve.
Oh, yes, I am proud to be a woman and to celebrate my sisters of all ages each day of the year!

Mushrooms For The Immune System
Mushrooms are found year-round in food shops. The wild ones have their season, but the button mushroom is always available.
Certain mushrooms are used for specific recipes. Whichever of the edible mushrooms you use, know that they are each healthy and full of important nutrients. Latest studies have found that mushrooms play a role in improving heart health, strengthening bones and aiding the immune system.
Since mushrooms contain many minerals they are a factor in enhancing the immune system, thus fighting off the flu, colds or other germs.
Spices too aid in fighting off seasonal illnesses such as the flu, so add curries to your menus. They also fight off bacteria.

On Your Way
Waiting at the station
For the next train to come,
Is an occupation
Which some would find quite glum.
But like all in Life, attending
For the next and brand new day,
You can be “on track” and mending
While you’re on your Merry Way!

Magnesium For Healthy Aging
Magnesium is such a necessary mineral for the body. Lack of it is associated with muscular cramps, but it is also important for the body for strong bones, teeth, muscles and tissues. The problem is that it is difficult to keep in the body-especially because of perspiration, but also because of lack of proper food, dieting, medication, stress, nervous tension, etc.
When there is not enough magnesium in the body, fatigue, cramps, and nervousness manifest themselves. Best sources are in certain foods with the highest being in cacao, almonds, cashews and soybeans.
Some mineral waters are high in magnesium. For example the mineral water Eptinger in Switzerland is very high in magnesium. I believe it is the one with the highest quantity. Do remember though, it is important not to drink the same mineral water all of the time. You want to alternate them.

Light Up With Age Esteem!
While watching fireworks in the night
(Like jewelry in the sky)
I think “Oh, what a lovely sight:
Those sparkling fireflies.”
You, too, can be aglow in Life
And shine, crackle and gleam;
Just rid yourself of any strife,
Light up with Age Esteem!

Brains Of Older People
Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age. It just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information stored in their brains, scientists believe
Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive becomes fuller, humans can also take longer to access information.
Researchers say this slowing down is not the same as cognitive decline. The human brain works more slowly in old age, said a doctor, but only because older people have stored more information over time. The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more, but just may not be able to access the information.
Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they are there, they stand and wonder what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem. It is nature’s way of making them do more exercise.*

It’s Hard To Write A Poem
When you find yourself in Paradise
It’s hard to write a poem,
Where life is new and oh so nice
And very far from home!
To think in terms of making rhymes
Would turn you back to palms
And blooming jasmine climbing vines
Or when the ocean’s calm.
But there’s poetry in silence,
And symmetry in trees,
One can just walk in cadence
When you are overseas!

Kale For Healthy Aging
Kale is the wonder vegetable for healthy aging. It seems to have everything for good health.
Kale is very high in iron, which is necessary for healthy blood, and in preventing anemia. Vitamins A, C and K are contained in it as well, with vitamin K being associated with reduced cancer risks. Too much of it, however, can cause blood clotting.
To help detox the digestive system sulfur is used in alternative medicine. Kale has a good quantity of sulfur.
Kale is a very valuable substitute when other fruits and vegetables are not in season. It can be prepared in various ways: steamed, stir-fried, baked and in soups.
