Bonnie’s Dream

Be Both Brave and Bountiful

Or Outrageous: that’s O.K.!

Never think you’re Naught or Null,

No other is like you, oh Nay!

If you follow Bonnie’s dream

Every day is Age Esteemed.

An Age Esteem Beauty Tip – Authenticity

An Age Esteem Beauty Tip – Authenticity

Sitting in a N.Y. diner in Manhattan I am fascinated by the life around me.  A people-watcher by nature, I actually look forward to these rare outings alone where I can enjoy watching life unfold.

People communicate so very much through their expressions and gestures.  Even their manner as they lift their folk indicates their frame of mind, especially when the gesture in not congruent with their facial expression.  The young woman who has a sweet smile of complaisance but is jabbing her food as though to kill it as she listens to the older man across from her, is not congruent.

A businessman seems to be sharing a story with the woman across from him.  His eyes are dancing and his crow’s feet are deepening with his smile and laughter as he leans towards her.  At the next table there are three women, two are animated and involved in conversation.  The third woman has a static smile, slumped shoulders and eyes that say, “I feel left out”.

How often do we say one thing, yet communicate something else with our body?  When we do this, we send conflicting messages.  We are not authentic. – And people feel this.  They know that we are not being genuine.

Our authenticity, being true to ourselves, not only enhances our beauty, it is an essential ingredient to true beauty.  It is the ingredient that creates that inner glow that attracts others to us. This is one of the secrets of people with age esteem. Being true to yourself enhances your beauty at every age.

You too can benefit from this Age Esteem beauty tip. Become conscious of your own gestures and expressions.  Are they congruent with the words that you are voicing, or do they contradict your words?

Life Is Like An Endless Voyage

Life is endless voyage

Life is like an endless voyage:

A one-way ticket to each age.

No boarding pass or reservations

Are needed traveling through Time’s “stations”.

If your conductor is first rate,

And your mind’s view is just great,

The panoramic years will seem

Enhanced by living Age Esteem.

Happy Thanksgiving

November 22nd, 2012 Comments off

In several parts of the world, today is celebrated as a day of thanksgiving.  Whether or not this is a day of celebration where you live, I invite you to celebrate your blessings.

As children we used to sing a grace that said,

“For health and strength and daily food we praise thy name oh Lord.”

For those of us who are older these blessings remain as important as they did when we were young.  Looking at our blessings helps us to focus on what we have, rather than what we might be missing.

Yes, I am thankful for my health, my strength and my nourishment.  I am also thankful for my wonderful relationships and for age-esteemers like you who visit my blog.

Have a happy day of thanksgiving.

  • Focus on what you have to be thankful for.
  • Smile and state out loud what these blessings are.
  • Let the people in your life for whom you are thankful know that you are thankful for them.

You are a blessing in my life,

Bonnie Fatio

Rain, Rain Please Stay!

Rain, Rain Please Stay!

Rain, Rain don’t go away,

Stay and sprinkle on our day!

It is NOT always funny

To have it HOT and sunny.

So, even though our shoes get damp,

And our hair “shades” like a lamp’s,

We can sparkle in a shower,

Moisturized like some rare flower!

Rain, Rain, please rain awhile,

It will moisten up my smile,

Glisten all my radiant beams

And lubricate my Age Esteem!

Using Age Esteem

Using Age Esteem

Florida is the sunshine state,

Even when it rains!

We should shine and be as great,

Even with our pains.

Cheerfulness is so contagious,

Even through our woes.

Why not sometimes be outrageous

Then ALL trouble goes!

Clouds don’t always hide the sun,

It’s there and can be seen.

Your brighter days have just begun

While using Age Esteem.

Time

Time

We live in a country of time,

With watches and hall clocks which chime,

We fill every minute

By duties within it,

While the Alps, standing still, stay sublime!

Sometimes it is best to just STOP

And lay down your schedules (and mop!)

Now is important, not when,

Try to Be, not one who has been!

Decide to wind down: stay on top!

Live With Zest

Live With Zest

Zest is a word that is easy to rhyme;

It is NOT just used for lemons and limes!

It’s YOU when you’re feeling and showing your best

With Zip in your mind-set and Zing as the rest.

It’s energy, synergy, how great you can seem

With razzle and dazzle and YOUR Age Esteem.

Each Age Has Esteem

Each Age Has Esteem

(A While-Walking Poem*)

We often hear of happy endings

They make our lives so well worthwhile;

Much nicer still are “happy durings”

They lead to one long lasting smile!

Why wait for bliss to come and find you

It’s NOW, TODAY, just look and glean!

The best to come is not behind you,

EACH age has so much to esteem.

Life’s Most Rewarding Age

Life’s Most Rewarding Age

Every time I start to dream

Of growing young, (as I have been),

I think how lucky I’m esteemed

For what I’ve learned since a young teen:

The Ups and Downs, it’s taken years

To comprehend and calm my fears!

I wasn’t wise when I was young,

It’s only now I’ve shed and wrung

Away the useless tears and rage

And live Life’s Most rewarding Age !
