Another Year
The Holidays are almost here,
Oh where has gone another year?
Did I make the most of it?
Did I rise instead of sit?
Was I worthy of the days?
Speaking in the kindest ways?
Fulfilling all my greatest dreams?
Growing older with esteem!

Happy Thanksgiving
In several parts of the world, today is celebrated as a day of thanksgiving. Whether or not this is a day of celebration where you live, I invite you to celebrate your blessings.
As children we used to sing a grace that said,
“For health and strength and daily food we praise thy name oh Lord.”
For those of us who are older these blessings remain as important as they did when we were young. Looking at our blessings helps us to focus on what we have, rather than what we might be missing.
Yes, I am thankful for my health, my strength and my nourishment. I am also thankful for my wonderful relationships and for age-esteemers like you who visit my blog.
Have a happy day of thanksgiving.
- Focus on what you have to be thankful for.
- Smile and state out loud what these blessings are.
- Let the people in your life for whom you are thankful know that you are thankful for them.
You are a blessing in my life,
Bonnie Fatio
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving
Come, Dear Friends, let’s feast together;
Thanksgiving Day is almost here.
Don your coats, we’ll face “fowl” weather
At this special time of year.
There’s no end to our Thanksgiving;
Thanks for friendships which remain;
Thanks for seasons, all things living
Thanks for when you’ll come again.

Using Age Esteem
Using Age Esteem
Florida is the sunshine state,
Even when it rains!
We should shine and be as great,
Even with our pains.
Cheerfulness is so contagious,
Even through our woes.
Why not sometimes be outrageous
Then ALL trouble goes!
Clouds don’t always hide the sun,
It’s there and can be seen.
Your brighter days have just begun
While using Age Esteem.

Sun, Sun, Wonderful Sun
Sun, Sun, Wonderful Sun
Sun, sun, wonderful sun,
It makes you want to dance and run;
Even if your muscles wane,
You can do the same in rain!
Why pretend you’re much “too older”?
Take your spirits by the shoulder
They don’t just know any age,
Proof is look at Bonnie’s page!

By The Sea
By The Sea
This poem is written by the sea,
The sky is blue, oh lucky me!
The ocean waves at those on shore,
The beaches shine, my spirits soar.
The “sea ne’s the same for young or old,
Its loveliness is manifold.
And so can you at best be “sea n”
When practicing your AgeEsteem!

World Refugee Day – A Day Of Thanks
World Refugee Day – A Day Of Thanks
World Refugee Day is a day to recognize the refugees of the world and to draw attention to their plight. Today there are more than 10 million refugees, whole families and communities who have had to flee their countries in order to survive. Many are older persons and children.
This is also a day to give thanks and express our appreciation
- to the multiple agencies working to provide food and shelter, often with great risk to their own well being;
- to those of us who are not refugees, to recognize the privilege that we have to be able to live at home and to have access to food, water, lodging, healthcare and education in safe environments; and
- to the multitude of refugees who have helped to shape our world by sharing their expertise, experience and talents in their new countries. They represent a great gift to their new homelands.
So while we reach out to help refugees, let’s also remember the contributions they have made and will continue to make as they settle in new lands.
