Mirror Of Life
Mirror, Mirror on my wall,
Is who I see just part, or all?
Am I reflected in my acts?
Am I part fiction? – Or just facts?
Will I accept when needers call?
Can I be GREAT? – Not big nor small.
Mirror, Mirror of my Life,
Help me to help all those in strife,
And when I watch you look at me
I’ll emanate inner beauty.

Lessons of Autumn
Why is it that we focus on our skin spots, scars and beauty marks as flaws? So often what we see as beauty in others we identify as a blemish on our own body.
I think this photo of a single leaf gives us the answer. If we examine it carefully looking at each detail, we find brown spots, tears and scars. However, when look at the total leaf, these “flaws” make it even more interesting and pretty. And when we see it on the tree it enhances the overall beauty of the foliage because of it’s particularities.
The leaf offers us an important lesson of beauty. When we wash our face, shave or put on makeup we tend to focus on tiny details. We seek the flaws. – So of course we find them! But when we look at the total picture of who we are, our beauty is very different. Our total is more attractive than each little detail. Our wrinkles, brown spots, scars and blemishes actually enhance our look. And when we add a smile, in the same way that the leaf shines with its color, we take on our own color. Our inner beauty flows to the surface. Oh, yes. The leaf is a wonderful example of what makes us beautiful!
Age esteemers are beautiful people because they shine from within and wear a smile.

It always puts a smile on my face to see fields of sunflowers in bloom. They have such a generous attitude. The sunflower not only shares its beauty as it lifts its face to the sun as though laughing with joy. – It also provides a landing field for all kinds of airborne insects from bumble bee to butter fly who in turn spread the flower’s pollen.
This is easily understood by people with age esteem. Age-esteemers also have an attitude of generosity.
- They focus their thoughts on the sunshine, the positive.
- They shine with inner beauty.
- They share their joy of living, and
- They spread their pollen of wisdom.

We all have moments when we feel truly beautiful. (Men can feel “beautiful”, too!)
Surprise yourself feeling beautiful:
- Ask yourself why you feel this way. What are the circumstances? Did someone just praise you? Are you doing something you love, wearing your favorite outfit, coming from the hair dresser, with good friends, or on your way to meet someone special?
- Use this knowledge to reproduce that feeling. What is the expression on your face? How are you standing or moving? What are you wearing? Where are you? Who is with you?
- When you want to recapture that special feeling of beauty, flash back to the way you felt when you surprised yourself feeling beautiful. Recreate that feeling as you bring it into the present. Let that “feeling beautiful” state permeate your being.
